CAC BASE – ARCTIC WHITE
Price range: $16.00 through $128.00
Our most opaque white glossy glaze! Arctic White is an excellent performer at Cone 5-6 and works great on functional wares and dinnerware, resisting cutlery marks while maintaining it’s glossy sheen. Use this base glaze on it’s own or use as a jumping off point to add your own stains or colorants.
Available mixed in our standard brushing formulation and also available dry for dipping.
Fires from Cone 4-6
Main image shows glaze on MAC 6, gallery image shows glaze on OREGON RED.

The new Arctic White recipe is just fine, but it settles out VERY quickly. I have to keep stirring it. I didn’t have that problem with the old recipe.
Taylor Jones –
This is an issue with most glaze reformulations since the industry has shifted away from EPK. A solution of magnesium sulfate is the best method for dialing in your dipping glaze and maintaining suspension.

Thanks. I like the PZN White. Is that food safe?
Taylor Jones –
PZN White is also food safe. It is not as opaque as Arctic White but still performs quite well!

I LOVE this glaze! It ALWAYS performs as expected and id doesn’t craze in hotter firings! I use it in both reduction/soda firings as well as my everyday oxidation firings and it is always wonderful!!!
