Classic Terra Sigillatas

This series of Classic Terra Sigillata recipes highlights the characteristics of the carefully selected kaolins we use to produce them. Apply Terra Sigillata to bone dry wares in layers and if desired buff with your hands or a plastic bag to bring out the natural sheen.

Alternatively these Terra Sigillatas can be used as a engobe all the way up to cone 10, use them to deposit color or highlight textures, they will lose their characteristic sheen if fired greater than cone 2.
