Flux Sources

Flux Sources are used in the formulation of both clay and glazes in ceramics. Different sources of flux include frits, feldspars, carbonates and others. In a glaze fluxes promote melting at desired temperatures and different fluxes are used for different applications and firing ranges. In clay bodies a flux help to promote vitrification which helps control porosity.
