Raku

Raku pottery is a unique ceramic firing technique that produces distinctive and vibrant results. Glazes specifically formulated for raku which can produce metallic or iridescent finishes are applied to bisqueware. The pieces are then placed back into a kiln, where they are fired to a lower temperature than traditional ceramics, usually around 1,800°F (982°C). This quick firing creates a dramatic transformation in the glazes.

Raku firings can also be used for Terra Sigillata.
