An old favorite in the Northwest, around for years, this series of opaque mottled glazes have graced decades of pots. Primarily earth tones of tan, green, turquoise, brown, and black; you can count on these for reliability and consistency. Many potters blend one or more glazes together to yield new colors. Medium application is best. Fire from cone 06 (matte surface) to cone 6 (mottled glossy surface). Recommended firing temperature is cone 2-6. Available in wet or dry.

This glaze is full of wonderful surprises! I was not expecting to love this glaze so much. It was a wild range of changes depending on the clay body used. The test tile in the photo makes the glaze look like it will be rough with pock marks, but I find it super smooth and glossy. The beautiful flecks in electric firing give it a reduction look. When layered with other glazes magical things happen. It’s a great glaze combo for sure.
