Fettling knives are used to trim pour hole waste when casting, remove mold marks, carve and sculpt ceramics and greenware. The F97 has a hard tempered steel blade with the same “Springy” feel as most conventional blades. The F96 is a softer steel blade, with much more flexibility which allows it to bend. Both blades are 4″ long firmly set in a hardwood handle for a total length of 8″.
