Metakaolin is the anhydrous calcined form of the clay mineral kaolinite.

Commonly used in cement countertops where it improves the strength and reduces permeability while contributing whiteness to the cement mix – also reduces potential for efflorescence. Also used in mortar and stucco due to it’s light color.
