Mullite kiln shelves are composed of 50% corderite, 35% mullite and less amount of other combined minerals. This produces a shelf highly resistant to thermal shock. The 5/8″ (0.625″) are recommended up to Cone 5 and the 1″ thick for up to Cone 10. Mullite is not recommend above Cone 10. When high firing we recommend that the shelves be flipped after each firing to compensate for any warpage.

Always use Kiln Wash on your shelves to protect against glaze drips.

Shelves larger than 21″ may only be shipped via LTL Freight.
